Sigenergy Inverters Update

Published: 26 November 2025

Important Statement

Regarding Sigenergy Single Phase 8/10/12kW Energy Controllers (Inverters) in Australia and NZ

Main things to know*:

  • The issue only applies to our single phase 8/10/12kW Energy Controllers (inverters), which have a different style AC plug that requires the use of ferrules and crimping.
  • Sigenergy have updated the AC plug on single phase 8/10/12kW Energy Controllers (inverters) so that they align with those used on our three phase inverters.
  • Sigenergy is working with installers to proactively replace affected inverters with a free replacement inverter that has an updated AC plug.
  • Installers will have the option of replacing each inverter on the products they have installed themselves, in which case Sigenergy will pay $500 per replacement, or they will replace them directly through our Sigenergy Service Partners (in our case, through Sol Distribution).
  • Sigenergy will also provide affected customers with an additional 2-year warranty on the replacement inverter which will apply in addition to our standard 10-year warranty (i.e. a total warranty period of 12 years).
  • As of November 20, 2025 all newly installed single-phase 8/10/12kW inverters that use the quick-connect AC plug are not eligible for STC rebates.
  • Any installation of inverters with the new OT terminal-style AC connection design from November 20 2025, will have their STC rebates processed in the regular way.

*Please note all this information has been gathered from the communications Sigenergy has published. If you’d like to read the full statement, please refer to the Sigenergy website

Please note that you cannot continue installing inverters with the current AC plug design (these are the plugs that require ferrules and crimping).  Sigenergy’s inverter with the updated AC plug has been approved by the Clean Energy Council (CEC). Effective immediately, you can conduct the installation of the inverter with the updated AC plug. You can contact us to arrange delivery or collection of the new version.

STC’s

As of November 20, 2025 all newly installed single-phase 8/10/12kW inverters that use the quick-connect AC plug are not eligible for STC rebates.
If you have installed the older quick-connect AC plug and have submitted and received the STC rebate, you need to replace that system with the new OT terminal-style AC connection design when stock is available to you.

Installers will have the option of replacing each inverter on the products they have installed themselves, in which case we will pay $500 per replacement, or we will replace them directly through Sigenergy’s Service Partners.

Any installation of inverters with the new OT terminal-style AC connection design from November 20 2025, will have their STC rebates processed in the regular way.

Inverter Replacements

Sigenergy are systematically working through inverter replacements. You will receive a ticket in the mySigen app with detailed instructions regarding any replacements assigned to you. You will then have the option to accept or pass on to Sigenergy’s service partner who can carry out the work on your behalf.

For those installers and retailers who have installed the single-phase 8/10/12kW inverters that use the quick-connect AC plug (requiring ferrules and crimping) on or before November 19, and have not yet received the STC rebate, you must replace it to the new OT terminal-style AC connection design. Once the new inverter is installed, the STC rebate will be processed.  Again, installers will have the option of replacing the inverter themselves or we will replace them directly through Sigenergy’s Service Partners.
